PURPOSE: To take out solid particles in a fludizing gas efficiently by mounting the cylindrical classifier with porous plates at multistages to a lower section of the fluidized bed and supplying the fluidizing gas from a lower section of the porous plates.
CONSTITUTION: The classifier 2 manufactured by mounting the porous plates 3 at multistages into a cylinder with an inside diameter the same as or smaller than the fluidized bed is fitted to a lower section of the fluidized bed of the fluidized bed device 1, the fluidizing gas is introduced from an inlet 4 of the lower section of the porous plates 3 and the particles classified are taken out of an extracting port 6. A sectional area of an empty tower of the classifier 2 is made approximately one fifth or one of a sectional area of an empty tower of the upper fluidized bed, and the ratio of an inside diameter to height of the classifier 2 is made approximately 1:1W1:10. A circle is preferable as the shape of the holes of the porous plates 3, and approximately 2cm or shorter is desirable as the diameters of the holes. Preferably, the intervals of the stages of the porous plates 3 are regular. Accordingly, a gas necessary for classification can be used simultaneously together with the gas employed for fluidizing the fluidized bed, and gas supply facilities need not be mounted particlularly.
