PURPOSE: To reduce the fitting man-hours of a getter, make a getter shield unnecessary, and improve the reliability of a product by fully automating the getter welding with a tape getter.

CONSTITUTION: A filament 4 and a tape getter 11 are fitted to the getter holding section of an electrode 7, the getter 11 is provided with getter material storage section 13 at a nearly uniform distance on a connection tape 12, and getter materials 14 are buried in recesses of the storage sections 13. When the getter 11 is to be fitted, the getter 11 is wound into a coil shape and set on an automatic filament welder, a getter positioning port 10 is set to the preset position by a positioning device, the getter 11 is extracted, and the filament 4 is welded to the holding section 8 of the electrode 7 by spot welding while being held. Then, the getter 11 is out by the right end section of the holding section 8.
