Title:
FLUORESCENT DISCHARGE LAMP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3474657
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a fluorescent discharge lamp in which a cathode luminescent spot can be easily and surely formed by a thermoelectron emitting material.
CONSTITUTION: A discharge electrode 4 having a metal sleeve 41; a mercury emitting body structure 42 having a cylindrical body 420 charged with a mercury emitting alloy and an alloy getter, which is inserted and fixed to the metal sleeve 41; and a metal coil 43 doubly wound inside and outside into a sleeve and having a thermoelectron emitting material provided on both inner and outer surfaces, which is inserted and fixed to the top end part of the metal sleeve 41, is adapted. The metal coil 43 generates a cathode luminescent spot during discharge, makes the discharge electrode act as a hot cathode to allow an improvement in emitting efficiency and a reduction in the tube voltage necessary to keep the discharge, and contributes to the saving of power consumption.
