Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a fluorescent substance having excellent brightness and electrical performance characteristics and capable of emitting green color light by ultraviolet rays by adding Bi to a Ce, Tb-activated rare earths silicate fluorescent substance.
CONSTITUTION: A mixture of an oxide mixture composed of Ln2O3 (Ln is one or more rare earths selected from Y, La, and Ga), Bi2O3, SiO2 CeO2, and Tb4O7 and KF as a flux is baked in a weakly reductive atmosphere with carbon, ground, and then again baked in a weakly reductive atmosphere composed of H2 and N2 to obtain a rare earth metal salt fluorescent substance of the formula (where 3× 10-4≤x≤3×10-1, 3×10-2≤y≤3×10-1, 1×10-6≤z ≤5×10-3, and 0.8≤a≤2.2).
