Abstract:
To provide a method of manufacturing a fluoropolymer hybrid organic/inorganic composite.SOLUTION: A method comprises: (i) providing a pre-composite by extruding, in molten phase, a pre-gel compound obtainable by at least partial hydrolysis and/or polycondensation of at least one metal compound of formula (I): X4-mM(OY)m (I), wherein M is a metal selected from the group consisting of Si, Ti and Zr, and m is an integer of 1 to 4, and at least one functional fluoropolymer comprising at least one hydroxyl group; (ii) providing a composition by compounding the pre-composite with at least one poly(alkylene oxide) of formula (II): HO-(CH2CHRAO)n-RB (II), wherein RA and RB each represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, and n is an integer of 2000 to 40000, and at least one metal salt; and (iii) extruding the composition in molten phase.SELECTED DRAWING: None
