To provide a method and a system for making analog switching on the fly, which achieve a switching time between energy levels of less than one second, and to provide a laser head for laser shock peening.
The system is a laser device configured to implement a laser shock peening process, and includes a first circuit which has a first impedance and is configured to provide a first energy level. The system is made up by connecting a second circuit to the first circuit. The second circuit has a second impedance, and a switching mechanism to connect the second impedance to the first circuit to obtain a second energy level or disconnecting the second impedance from the first circuit. The system has a capability of controlling the switching mechanism so that the switching mechanism can disconnect the second impedance in less than one second. The present method comprises steps of: putting a laser device into operation at a first energy level in response to disconnection of a second impedance by a switching mechanism, controlling the switching mechanism so that the switching mechanism can connect the second impedance in less than one second, and further putting the laser device into operation at a second energy level in response to connection of the second impedance.
