Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a foamed conductive roller having excellent surface uniformity or uniform surface electric resistance by filling the hole parts of the foam on the surface of the foamed conductive roller with the conductive powder.
SOLUTION: The hole parts 30 on the surface of the foamed conductive roller is filled with the conductive powder 32 and the hole parts 31 existing in the inside is not filled with it. The foamed conductive roller is formed by kneading a binder component, conductive material and foaming agent, molding the mixture into a roller shape and subjecting the molding to vulcanizing and foaming treatments. Natural rubber, butadiene rubber, etc., are recommended as the binder component and carbon black, metallic powder, etc., as the conductive material. The foaming agents of a dispersion type of org. systems are preferable as the foaming agent as these foaming agents are good in rising of a foaming temp. and with which a foam having a uniform cell size is obtainable. The conductive powder 32 to be filled in the hole parts 30 on the surface of the foamed conductive roller is preferably a powder formed by dispersing the conductive material into an elastic material.
