PURPOSE: To obtain a new uniform foaming agricultural chemical formulation for application on the water surface, having sufficient diffusivity by blending a composition composed of an active ingredient of an agricultural chemical, a carbonate and a water- soluble solid acid with an inorganic floating substance such as glassy hollow body.
CONSTITUTION: A foaming agricultural chemical formulation for application on the water surface is obtained by adding an active ingredient of an agricultural chemical, a carbonate such as sodium carbonate, a water-soluble solid acid such as citric acid or fumaric acid, together with an inorganic floating substance (a glassy hollow body such as obsidian is especially preferred) in an amount of preferably 1-20wt.% in the formulation thereto. Furthermore, the solid composition may be packaged with a water-soluble polymer film. The composition can uniformly be diffused by its packaging with the film and the safety is simultaneously high with saved labor. The carbonate and the water-soluble solid acid contained in the composition have function to release gaseous carbon dioxide with a large amount of water in the paddy field, foam thereby and widely diffuse the active ingredient of the agricultural chemical into water in the paddy field together with the inorganic floating substance.
