Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the follow-up property of a screen and to suppress the swaying of the picture due to the movement of a focus lens by providing a direction discriminating means to discriminate whether the movement of a subject is a far direction or a near direction. CONSTITUTION:For the output of a first memory 11 and a second memory 12, the data of respective corresponding addresses are synchronized, outputted to a vector arithmetic circuit 14 and a moving vector S of a subject (a) is operated. A direction discriminating circuit 18 discriminates whether the movement of the subject (a) is the 'far' direction or the 'near direction' based on the moving vector S of respective parts of the subject (a). A digital controller 13 issues a motor driving instruction to a motor driving circuit 16 in order to move a focus lens 2 in the discriminated direction. Thus, the follow up property is improved and the swaying of the picture can be prevented.
