Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focus detecting device that can notify a photographer of a focus detecting position even if the focus detecting position detected by a phase difference detecting unit in an imaging element is out of a range displayable by display means.SOLUTION: A focus detecting device includes: first focus detecting means (6) for detecting focus on the basis of a phase difference of a one pair of subject images subjected to a pupil division; display means (28) for displaying a focus detecting position of the first focus detecting means (6) and a range of the focus detecting position on a finder screen; and an imaging element (5) for shooting the subject images. The imaging element (5) constitutes second focus detecting means (5) for detecting the focus on the basis of the phase difference of the one pair of the subject images subjected to the pupil division. The focus detecting device controls a focus detection by using both of an amount of defocus detected by the first focus detecting means (6) and an amount of defocus detected by the second focus detecting means (5). The display means (28) displays the focus detecting position where the second focus detecting means (5) is detecting the focus.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
