Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focus detection device that can appropriately detect a focus state of an optical system.SOLUTION: A focus detection device comprises: an acquisition unit 21 that acquires a plurality of pixel output from a plurality of pixels 221 receiving a light flux passing through an optical system; a computation unit 21 that calculates an evaluation value as to contrast of an image by the optical system on the basis of the plurality of pixel output; and a detection unit 21 that detects a focus state of the optical system on the basis of the evaluation value. The computation unit 21 is configured to calculate the number of pixel output having an output value saturated as the number of saturation pixels, out of the plurality of pixel output, and on the basis of the number of saturation pixels, switch a computation method of the evaluation value.
