Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foil bearing capable of preventing agglutination of a foil without impairing abrasion resistance on a slide surface of the foil due to peeling of a coat.SOLUTION: A foil bearing 10 includes a foil 12 formed with a protective coat 16, and a foil holder 11 supporting the foil 12, wherein a shaft 13 is supported by a fluid film formed in a bearing interval between the protective coat 16 and the shaft 13. The foil bearing 10 has, on a slide surface side of the foil 12, a chemical conversion coat 15 having an uneven surface 15a formed by chemical conversion, and the protective coat 16 provided on the uneven surface 15a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
