Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an original reader which can prevent the deterioration of its reading accuracy with high reliability and at low cost.
SOLUTION: An original reader 10 includes plural lenses 2 which are contained in a long casing body 16 and a semiconductor chip 3 which is linearly placed against the lenses 2 and also in 1:1 correspondence to every lens 2. Furthermore, a long transparent substrate 11 includes an irradiation part 17 which contains an LED chip 5 and is attached to the body 16. Both longer sides of the substrate 13 are supported and fixed by the part 17 and the body 16. Then an original 6 put on the substrate 13 is irradiated by the light of the chip 5, and the light reflected on the original 6 is condensed on the photoelectric transducer of the chip 3.
