PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate an ascent and a descent by installing and fixing a footstool in which a tread is supported by a support frame at a position lower than the upper face of the step section of a building in the front of the step section.
SOLUTION: This footstool 1 for a step section 5 is constituted of a tread 2, a support frame 3 supporting the tread 2 at a position lower than the upper face of the step section 5 of a building, and a fixing means to the step section 5 and/or a floor, and the footstool 1 is installed and fixed on the front side of the step section 5. The frame 3 is constituted of a pair of side frames trailed with legs 312 from both edges of upper beams and two or more connecting beams suspended between the upper beams. The tread 2 has coupling sections 221 coupled with the upper beams and/or connecting beams of the frame 3, and the coupling sections 221 are coupled with the upper beams and/or connecting beams to fix the tread 2 to the frame 3. Brackets 223 are protruded on the step section side end edge of the tread 2, and fixing rods 4 are inserted into insertion holes provided on the brackets 223 to fix the tread 1 to the step section 5, thereby a step is reduced, and an old person can easily ascend and descend the step section 5.
