Abstract:
To provide a forged scroll member made of an aluminum alloy excellent in both of strength and toughness.
This scroll member is producing by forging an aluminum alloy contg., by weight, 8.0 to 11.0% Si, 3.5 to 4.5% Cu, 0.3 to 1.0% Mg, ≤0.2% Ti and Sr and/or N by ≤0.03% in total, and the balance aluminum with inevitable impurities. The stock for the forging is composed of a semi-continuous cast ingot in which the interval between dendrite secondary arms is regulated to ≤50μm, which is forged to form into a prescribed shape or is once extruded to form and is thereafter forged.
