To provide a form rolling method and an apparatus thereof, capable of changing a speed in form rolling and a speed of reciprocation while preventing the speed of movement of a flat die from being regulated by an initial speed thereof at the start of form rolling.
The form rolling apparatus has a first flat die 10 and a second flat die 16 positioned along the first flat die 10. In the form rolling method, a raw material S to be processed supplied to the end of the first flat die 10 is sandwiched between the first flat die 10 and the second flat die 16, and the second flat die 16 is moved along the first flat die 10 to process the outer peripheral surface while rotating the raw material S to be processed. A forwarding thread rod 17 rotating by driving of a motor 18 is screwed with a screw hole 16a formed on the second flat die 16, thereby controlling the state that the second flat die 16 moves in parallel to the first flat die 10 by the driving of the motor 18.
