Abstract:

To provide a format conversion circuit which is small in circuit scale and does not require more numbers of wiring, in a frame format conversion circuit.

This circuit is composed of a serial/parallel conversion means 5 inputting serial data composed of a valid data area and an invalid data area, successively converting the data of the valid data area into the parallel data of a prescribed number and outputting the data, and a storage means 6 inputting the parallel data that the serial/parallel conversion means 5 outputs, storing the data and outputting the stored parallel data of the valid storage area during the period when the data of invalid data area is inputted after all the data of the valid data area is stored.
