Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for forming a fiber aggregate free from filling nonuniformity and enabling the delicate control of the filling in a mold even by adopting an air-blowing method.
SOLUTION: A fiber aggregate F containing dispersed binder fibers is filled in a mold cavity C by an air-blowing process. After filling the fiber aggregate F and a molding part G in the mold cavity, the fiber aggregate F is compression-molded under heating to a prescribed bulk density to obtain a desired molded article. The above method for forming a fiber aggregate comprises the displacement of the molding part G placed in the mold cavity C by a prescribed length along the compression direction according to the compression operation and/or the preliminary charging of an auxiliary filling material to the unfilled part of the fiber aggregate formed in the downstream side of the molding part G in the blowing of the fiber aggregate F into the mold cavity C.
