Title:
FORMING OF OXIDE SUPERCONDUCTING MATERIAL POWDER AND FORMING MOLD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02192450
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a powder-molded article having high orientation degree without using a binder by sealing metal oxide powder in a non-magnetic mold and molding the powder while applying a prescribed pressure to the powder in a direction coinciding to the direction of magnetic field having a prescribed flux density.

CONSTITUTION: A raw material for the present process is produced by compounding powder of metal oxides necessary for constructing an oxide superconducting material. The raw material is sealed in a mold. The side walls of the mold parallel to the directions of magnetic field and pressure is made of a non-magnetic material. A magnetic field having a magnetic flux density of 0.3-50 tesla is applied to the raw material under application of vibration. The material is formed by applying a pressure of ≥100kgf/cm2 in a direction coinciding to the direction of the magnetic field. Planes containing Cu ions and O ions two-dimensionally bonded with each other are arranged in parallel to each other on a plane perpendicular to the directions of the magnetic field and the pressure.
