Abstract:
PURPOSE: To increase the volume of a tray and to decrease the height of foam on the try.
CONSTITUTION: This fractionating apparatus is provided with upper first and lower second vapor-liquid contact trays, at least two downcomers 2 each having a liquid-tight discharging means and a vapor-liquid contact deck provided with vapor stream guiding grooves 4 each having such an opening that at least a part of vapor streams is faced to the sidewall 6 of the downcomer 2. The downcomers 2 of the second vapor-liquid contact tray are made perpendicular to those of the first vapor-liquid contact tray. Each tray has plural vertical plates attached to the tray while aligning the centerline with the parallel downcomers 2 as inflow preventing screen plates. Each of the inflow preventing screen plates of the lower second vapor-liquid contact tray has a notched part to surround the bottom part of the downcomer 2 of the upper first vapor-liquid contact tray.
