PURPOSE: To provide a freshness-retaining agent containing ubidecarenone as an active ingredient, high in safety and color tone-retaining effect and used for meat and its processed products.
CONSTITUTION: A freshness-retaining agent contains as an active ingredient ubidecarenone having a chemical structure of the formula and widely existing in the animal and vegetable kingdoms. When added to feeds, the agent acts also as an animal growthstimulating agent and is effective for improving the productivity of livestock, poultry, and cultured fishes.
