Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a pressing load invariable even when a facing has been worn.
SOLUTION: Negative spring characteristic is given to a diaphragm spring 6 for elastically pressing a pressure plate 5 to engage a clutch disc 3 (a facing 4) on a flywheel 2, and the spring force of the diaphragm spring 6 is reduced than the spring force of a return spring as a reliese stroke enlarges. A clutch is changed over into its released state at an intersection point with the spring force of the return spring on the way of its negative spring characteristic domain. An abrasion detecting sensor 11 movable with variation of the abrasion quantity of the facing 4 is provided, and a correction ring 7d is displaced as far as the moving quantity of the abrasion detecting sensor at the time of releasing to correct the support position of the diaphragm spring 6 through a diaphragm receiving section 7a for preventing variations in relative positional relationship and moreover in a pressing load.
