Title:
FRICTION PRESS WELDING METHOD FOR ALUMINUM ALLOY AND CARBON STEEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05138371
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the friction joining method for an aluminum alloy and carbon steel by which the joint strength approximate to the joint strength of an aluminum alloy base material is obtainable.

CONSTITUTION: The friction press welding of the aluminum alloy and the carbon steel is executed by combining the aluminum alloy having ≤3.5% Mg content and the carbon steel having ≤0.6% C content, then joining this aluminum alloy and carbon steel under the conditions under which the substantial friction time T1 (sec) from the contact of these two members untill the stop of the relative rotations satisfies the equation: 0.1≤1≤-(4/5)X+1.2(X: C content (%) of the carbon steel) and the upset pressure under the friction pressure contact conditions is 12 to 30kgf/mm2.
