Abstract:
To provide a friction stir welding method and tool for a lap joint which can acquire an enough stir welding field in interface of a plate and reinforce strength of a joint.
A tool 20 consists of a basement part 10 and a pin part 11 formed in the tip of the basement part 10. This pin part 11 has a diameter smaller than the basement 10 and a screw part 12 is formed on the surface. As the pin part 11 goes to the tip, the diameter becomes larger, and the point has a large diameter part. In this way, by making the diameter of the point side bigger than an end in the pin part 11, the tool can enlarge a stir welding field.
