Abstract:
To provide a friction engagement device of an automatic transmission which can reduce a manufacturing cost of a hub part.SOLUTION: A clutch CL3 of an automatic transmission 10 comprises: a hub part 22 formed into a cylindrical shape, and formed with a hub spline 22a at an external peripheral part; a drum part 31 formed into a cylindrical shape, coaxially arranged at the external peripheral part with respect to the hub part 22, and formed with a drum spline 31a at an internal peripheral part; a plurality of hub friction plates 41 formed into annular shapes, and engaged with the hub spline 22a at internal peripheral parts; and a plurality of drum friction plates 42 formed into annular shapes, engaged with the drum spline 31a at external peripheral parts, and arranged between the plurality of hub friction plates 41. The hub part 22 has a recess 71 which is formed so as to be recessed at an axial direction AD1 side at an end face at an axial direction AD2 side, and makes the external peripheral part and the internal peripheral part of the hub part 22 communicate with each other in a radial direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
