To provide a frictional property measuring device for paper sheets that can instantaneously measure a frictional property of a paper sheet such as a bill while a feeding means feeds the paper sheet.
The frictional property measuring device for paper sheets comprises: the feeding means B for feeding a paper sheet 2; a pressing means 3 disposed in the feeding means B, composed of at least two sets of roller pairs 6, 8 and 7, 9 arranged upstream and downstream in a feed direction A of the paper sheet 2, and given different pressing forces at the roller pairs 6, 8 and 7, 9; rotary drive sources 15 and 18 for rotatively driving the respective roller pairs 6, 8 and 7, 9 with a speed difference; a torque measuring means 4 for measuring load torque from a slip caused between elements on either side of the roller pairs 6, 8 and 7, 9 and the paper sheet 2; and a processing means 5 for computing a frictional property of the paper sheet 2 from the load torque measured by the torque measuring means 4.
