The frying apparatus (1) heating a rotating drum (3) to stir-fry the food ingredients inside the drum (3) is structured to hold, in a base (7), a heating mechanism (4) for heating the drum (3), and a rotating mechanism (5) for rotating the drum (3). The frying apparatus (1) is provided with a leg body (9) for holding the base (7) in a horizontal or forward tilting state, and an opening cover (25) for preventing food ingredients from spilling out of an opening (12) of the drum (3). The opening cover (25) is provided only on the rotating direction side on the lower side of the drum (3). A slip-down preventing means for preventing the drum (3) from slipping down forward is provided between the drum (3) and the rotating mechanism (5).
