Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve startability of a fuel cell system without enlarging the system or increasing cost, the system using hydrogen discharged from a hydrogen storage material for a fuel gas.SOLUTION: A fuel cell system 10 comprises: a fuel cell 12; a main tank 14 which is filled with a first hydrogen storage material; a tank 16 for replenishment which is filled with a second hydrogen storage material, and a tank 18 for startup which is filled with a third hydrogen storage material. When operating the fuel cell system 10, supply of hydrogen from the main tank 14 or the tank 18 for startup to the fuel cell 12, replenishment of hydrogen from the main tank 14 to the tank 16 for replenishment, replenishment of hydrogen from the tank 16 for replenishment to the tank 18 for startup and discharge of hydrogen from the tank 18 for startup to the main tank 14 are performed timely and at the same time, exhaust heat of the fuel cell 12 is used to heat the main tank 14 and/or the tank 16 for replenishment.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
