To provide a fuel cell type reaction apparatus capable of manufacturing a useful compound under a mild condition with high selectivity by an efficient and economical method and producing electric power if need, a method of manufacturing the useful compound using the fuel cell type reaction apparatus, particularly a method of producing hydrogen peroxide from hydrogen and oxygen.
The fuel cell type reaction apparatus has structure in which an anode chamber and a cathode chamber are separated from each other by a unit membrane formed by unifying an anode membrane, a cathode membrane and an electrolyte membrane, a liquid is present in the anode chamber and/or the cathode chamber while a part of the anode membrane and/or the cathode membrane is exposed to a vapor phase and both poles are externally short-circuited by an electron conductive body. The method of manufacturing the compound is provided which is carried out using the reaction apparatus and the method of producing the hydrogen peroxide is also provided.
