PURPOSE: To obtain a fuel feed pump which can feed kerosine at an ultraminute flow rate, has fewer change in pressure and flow rate and can obtain a stable combustion state, by setting the gap between a housing and a rotating shaft to be less than 20μ, and forming shallow groove patterns in the relatively moving surfaces of both.
CONSTITUTION: Shallow groove patterns 14 capable of forcing kerosine of extremely small viscosity are formed in the relatively moving surfaces of a rotating shaft 1 and a housing 2 by effectively utilizing such treatment as etching or plating. As the results of examinations of the pump characteristics carried out by changing the pump geometry, the parameter of the pump spiral group 14 and the like, it has been confirmed that the following values are suitable: the shaft outer diameter D=0.8cm, the length of the spiral group 14 Lp=5.0cm, the spiral angle α=45°, the gap ΔR=20μ and the like. Thereby, it is possible to obtain a kerosine feed pump which can feed kerosine at an ultra-minute flow rate and whose combustion state can be continuously controlled and moreover which has fewer changes in pressure and flow rate.
