Abstract:
To operate two high-pressure fuel pumps of a V type engine in the same or almost the same phase while suppressing pulsation.
A fuel feed system includes a first high-pressure fuel pump 200 having a pump plunger operated by a first cam 210 attached to an intake cam shaft, and a second high-pressure pump 300 having a pump plunger operated by a second cam 310 attached to the intake cam shaft. The first and the second cams 210 and 310 are operated at the same phases, and cam profiles of these cams have almost the same phases at the top dead center and the bottom dead center, and different profiles corresponding to their discharge strokes, thereby developing different discharge properties.
