Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the number of injection nozzles, through which fuel is injected, with a high degree of freedom by a selectively driving needle valves juxtaposed in a body by an actuator.
SOLUTION: By selectively controlling a current to a solenoid 43 for electromagnetic actuators 40 and 41, a rod 46 selectively or steppedly selectively drives an on-off valve 33 through a fit-in piece 52 based on a stroke amount and a gap L provided in the middle of a stroke. Since, through a selected on-off valve, a fuel pressure in a balance chamber 28 is released through a selected on-off valve 33, one or both of selected needle valves 14 and 15 are lifted and inject fuel through an injection nozzle 24. Sealing in the closed state of the injection nozzle 24 is reliably effected at each needle valve and structural coping with the increase of the number of the needle number is practicable.
