Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection device for an internal combustion engine for accurately controlling an injection amount to be a target value.
SOLUTION: The fuel injection device comprises a common-rail 13 and a fuel injection valve 3 connected to the common-rail 13. When pilot injection is started, injection pressure is pulsated. At this time, the injection amount of main injection is changed in a certain change pattern. With a lateral axis set as an interval time from starting the pilot injection to starting the main injection and a vertical axis set as the change amount of the main injection, the change pattern of the injection amount of the main injection is in the form of contraction or elongation in the directions of the lateral axis and the vertical axis depending on rail pressure. The change amount of the injection amount of the main injection is found by using such characteristics.
