Abstract:

PURPOSE: To secure a minimum injection time so as to limit combustion deterioration accompanying alteration of injection timing to the minimum by at least shifting a starting voltage application time when fuel injection times for plural cylinders overlap with one another during switching of a combustion mode.
CONSTITUTION: In switching of a combustion mode, a time θie from an injection end to ignition in the case of stratified combustion or infection start timing θis in the case of uniform combustion, is inputted to an injection timing modifying part 61 in addition to each of cylinder signals in a crank position detecting part 52. For example, in order to calculate the fuel injection timing in the fourth cylinder serving as the final cylinder of one cycle, it is determined whether a starting voltage application time for the fourth cylinder overlaps with the area D, in which minimum injection time intervals are provided before and after a starting voltage application time for the first cylinder whose ignition order is earlier than the fourth cylinder by one step, and a new injection start position T4S' or T4S" is set in the front and the rear of the area D when the starting voltage application time overlaps with the area D. Then, the fourth cylinder injection timing inputs the signal to a combustion injection timing setting part 57 so that the fuel injection timing θis is modified.
