PURPOSE: To improve combustion characteristics of a mounting engine by accurately controlling a fuel amount supplied to the mounting engine, providing a signal indicating a demanded fuel amount, and comparatively slowly delivering a small amount of fuel from separate inner bores prior to the delivery of principle fuel.
CONSTITUTION: Inner bores 12, 26 respectively with a smaller and a bigger plungers 13, 45 mounted therein are arrayed along a rotation shaft of a rotary distribution member. A longitudinal passageway 14 is branched to communicate a fuel delivery path 15 with each of the bores. Electrically controlled on/off valves 22, 49 are disposed in inlet passageways 17, 18 for supplying a fuel to the two inner bores. A non-return valve 44 is disposed in a delivery passageway through the inner bore 12 with the bigger plunger 13 mounted therein. The on/off valve is controlled by an electronic control system controlled on the basis of a relative angular position signal of a distribution member against a cam ring and a signal indicating a demanded fuel amount.
