Abstract:

To provide a fuel injection valve designed to simultaneously achieve both directivity and atomization of spray with respect to spray characteristics of the fuel injection valve.

The fuel injection valve includes a plurality of concaves arranged correspond to a plurality of injection holes at a downstream-side end face of an injection hole plate. At least some of the injection hole outlets open at the bottom face of the concave and the rest of the injection hole outlets open at the downstream-side face of the injection hole plate or contact the inner surface of the concave. In a fuel path formed by the injection hole, there is provided with a cylindrical portion whose cross section is a minimum cross section in the radial direction of the injection hole in a location from the upstream-side end face of the injection hole plate to the bottom face of the concave. In addition, the fuel injection valve is configured to meet the relationship of 1.1<(D2/D1)<3.0, where D1 indicates the diameter of the injection hole and D2 indicates the diameter of the concave or the diameter of the concave in the circumferential direction of the virtual circle.
