To provide a fuel for a premix combustion self-ignition engine to control a burning reaction in a premix-compression self-ignition combustion reaction in premixing compressed self-ignition for improving a heat effectiveness of the engine.
The fuel for premixed compression self-ignition engine satisfies all the following characteristics from (1) to (6) and also satisfies the requirements of (7) or (8): (1) the total content of a normal paraffine from C5 to C10 of 25 to 70 vol.%; (2) the content of an aromatic hydrocarbon from C6 to C11 of 30 to 75 vol.%; (3) the content of an olefinic hydrocarbon of less than 20 vol.%; (4) the oxygen containing hydrocarbon content interms of oxygen atom of 5 mass% or less; (5) the research method octane value of 70 or more and less than 92; (6) the initial distillating point as a distillate of 30C or higher and the end point being less than 220C; (7) the mean value of an continuous ascending rate of the maximum pressure is less than 15% at 400 cycle compared with PRF (primary reference fuel); and (8) in the mean value of a maximum pressure ascending rate of 400 cycle, the mean effective pressure is increased 20% or more compared with PRF of the octane value of the same research method octane value.
