To obtain clothing for papermaking, suitable for forming, press or drying process in papermaking machine and having resistance to stain by applying a treating solution containing a specific fluorine compound to a fabric using urethane as a base.
A fluorine compound selected from a group comprising a dispersed aqueous solution of a fluoroalkyl alcohol, a fluorinated acryl, an fluoroalkyl (meth)acrylate or a fluorine-substituted polyolefin is compounded with a brightener such as benzopyranone and stilbenedisulfonic acid and a whitening agent such as titanium dioxide by using aqueous polyurethane as a base to afford a coating solution. The clothing for papermaking is obtained by applying 5-30wt.%, preferably 10-15wt.% (as a solid content) of the coating solution onto the prescribed fabric.
