A funeral illuminator includes: a base; and a columnar light-emitting part formed of a columnar light diffusion part provided in a standing manner on the base, for diffusing light, and an LED light source provided on a base part of the light diffusion part and in which at least one of color and intensity of the light automatically changes. In the funeral illuminator, the light source has a reduced calorific value, an energy saving effect and a long lifetime compared with a known incandescent light bulb, indirect radiation of light through the light diffusion part can provide blurred and moderate light to generate natural atmosphere like a candle, and automatic change in color and/or intensity of the light can provide expression of fluctuation of a candle and ethereal change in light which cannot be generated by a candle.
