Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably and efficiently manufacture furfural during manufacturing the furfural from a non-edible biomass resource via carbohydrates with 5 carbon atoms.SOLUTION: In a method for manufacturing a carbohydrate solution for furfural manufacturing raw material including conducting a reaction using a non-edible biomass resource as a raw material in a reaction tank in presence of a solvent and a catalyst and extracting a carbohydrate solution from the resulting reaction liquid, where the carbohydrate solution contains monosaccharide with 5 carbon atoms and polysaccharide having monosaccharide with 5 carbon atoms as constitutional components and weight average molecular weight of the monosaccharide and the polysaccharide is 200 to 1000. There is provided a method for manufacturing furfural from the manufactured carbohydrate solution for furfural manufacturing raw material.SELECTED DRAWING: None
