Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuse element of high reliability.
SOLUTION: A soluble conductor 2 is electrically fitted to both ends of two conductive material caps 5 of a pipe 4 in which gas is packed. At least one elastic seal element 7 is inserted in the space between a cap base and the end face of the tube 4 and/or in a part of a cavity of the pipe adjoining the end face at least at one of both ends, so that one or more pressure equalizing paths 10 and 11 of such small cross section areas as the change of pressure in the cavity is equalized extremely gently remain between a cavity 3 in the pipe 4 where gas is packed and an external environment of the fuse element 11, for abrupt pressure rising in the cavity caused as the result of arc from the fusing of the soluble conductor 2 to act for quenching the arc.
