Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods and pharmaceutical compositions for treating human cancer, inflammatory diseases and other disorders associated with NF-κB.SOLUTION: The invention provides a therapeutic or prophylactic agent comprising a compound represented by X-A-X(I) or a derivative thereof, where A is an oligopeptide moiety comprising residues represented by Y-Y-Y-Ywhere Yis D-tryptophan, L-tryptophan, D-tyrosine or L-tyrosine; Yis D-phenylalanine, L-phenylalanine, D-tryptophan, L-tryptophan, D-tyrosine or L-tyrosine; Yand Yare absent or each an amino acid residue or a residue of amino acid derivative; Xis absent or a moiety added to the amino terminus of A to block free amino group; Xis absent or an amino moiety that binds to the carboxy terminus of the oligopeptide sequence to form an amide bond.SELECTED DRAWING: None
