A storage part 202 of the game device 201 stores a position of a character to be placed in a virtual space. A generation part 203 generates an image for displaying what the virtual space looks like. An adjustment part 204 makes adjustments so as to lower contrast of a generated image during a prescribed period of use after an item is used. A position update part 206 changes and updates the position of the character at a prescribed speed or slower if not during the use period of time; changes and update the position without imposing speed limits during the use period of time. A display part 205 displays an adjusted image to a screen.
