To provide a garbage disposer with little smell, in which electricity expense is low, and processing time is short.
The garbage disposer is provided with a drying heater 103 heating the garbage in a storage vessel 101, an oxidation catalyst 109 deodorizing odors contained in steam generated from the garbage, an air intake passage 113 supplying open air into the storage vessel 101, and an electromagnetic valve 16 capable of adjusting the flow rate of the air flowing through the air intake passage 113. Thereby, corresponding to the drying condition of the garbage, the condition of the internal pressure, and the open air quantity containing the oxygen which the oxidation catalyst 109 requires for the deodorization, the flow rate of the air flowing through the air intake passage 113 can be adjusted to carry out the drying treatment under optimum conditions. As a result, the garbage disposer in which the electricity expense is low, the garbage dry processing time is short, and the smell generated in treatment is little can be provided.
