To provide a garbage disposer that can freely be installed even in a narrow space and is excellent in usability.
The garbage disposer is provided with a garbage-storing vessel 21 for storing garbage, a discharge port 24 provided on a side of the garbage-storing vessel 21, an agitation blade 27 for agitating the garbage, and a flap 33 that covers the discharge port 24 and is pivotally supported to freely rotate. The disposer is configured so that the agitation blade 27 is provided inclined in the direction of a rotary shaft so as to move the garbage to the discharge port 24 side when the agitation blade 27 is rotated in a direction and the garbage is discharged from the discharge port 24 when the flap 33 opens. Normally the flap 33 is closed so that an operator walking around the disposer merely collide with the flap. Furthermore, garbage pushes the flap 33 to swing outward, so that the apparatus can comfortably and simply be used for a long period of time.
