To provide a garbage treatment device which can decrease the burden on a user in opening and closing a lid composed of a lid body and an intra-vessel fan and can be dried efficiently.
The garbage treatment device is equipped with a treatment vessel 2 into which garbage is thrown, a lid body 10 of which one end is linked to a lid body fitting section 8 via a hinge section 9 and which is freely rotatably and openably blocks an upper opening 3 of the treatment vessel 2, a ventilation means for ventilating the air in the treatment vessel 2, and a heating means for heating the contents 5 in the treatment vessel 2. In a part of the lid body 10 for blocking the upper opening 3 and in a part being out of the center of gravity of the lid body 10 toward the side of the hinge section 9, an intra-vessel fan 11 which sucks air in the treatment vessel 2 through a suction port 13 and blows off the sucked air though a blowoff port 14 into the treatment vessel 2 is installed. The blowoff port 14 is opened toward the center part of the upper part of the treatment vessel 2.
