Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas carburization method and a gas carburization apparatus capable of performing highly accurate carburization quickly without performing sooting under a normal pressure.SOLUTION: In a gas carburization method, a workpiece 100 stored in a heat treatment furnace 10 under a normal pressure is heated, and carrier gas and enrich gas or reduce gas are supplied into the heat treatment furnace 10 to thereby control the atmosphere in the heat treatment furnace 10. In the gas carburization method, a chain unsaturated hydrocarbon is used as the enrich gas, and carbon dioxide or air is used as the reduce gas.
