To provide a gas circuit breaker having an operation mechanism for gas circuit breaker improved in insulating performance.
The gas circuit breaker comprises: a closed vessel 1 in which insulation gas is charged; two breaking parts arranged in the closed container 1; a bracket 3 supporting a breaking part movable part constituting the two breaking parts in an opening/closing operable state; an insulation cylinder 5 supporting the bracket 3 through an electric field relaxation shield 4; an insulation operation rod 13 arranged in the insulation cylinder 5 movably along an axis, and having one end coupled to an operation unit 2; and a link mechanism coupled to the other end of the insulation rod 13 and transmitting driving force from the operation unit 2 to the breaking part movable part. The electric field relaxation shield 4 has an outer peripheral groove part 4a and an inner peripheral groove part 4b corresponding to an outer periphery and an inner periphery of the insulation cylinder 5 respectively, the outer peripheral groove part 4a and inner peripheral groove part 4b have an opening part on the side of the link mechanism, and a tip of the inner peripheral groove part 4b is extended to nearby the outer periphery of the insulation operation rod 13.
