PURPOSE: To increase cooling and washing effect and reduce the capacity of a vessel, by a method wherein a plurality of pipelines in a central division and the whole or one part of an area below the opening of a washing water introducing pipe in an upper division are packed with filler.
CONSTITUTION: A sealed vessel is divided into three divisions by two walls Modified gas 14 is injected into washing water 13 in a drain tank 11 from a nozzle 12 through a modified gas supplying pipe 7 at a lower division. The gas 14, washed by water and cooled in the tank 11, ascends and enters into circular pipes 2, then, is contacted opposingly with washing water 13 from a sprinkler 1 on the wide area of filler in the circular pipes 2 whereby the gas is washed by water and cooled. Cooling water 15 flows through the outside of the circular pipes. The gas 14, passed through the circular pipes 2 and fillers on the upper division, 1a contacted directly with the washing water from the sprinkler 1 whereby the gas 14 is washed by water and cooled. According to this method, an economic, compact and highly efficient device, provided with both of washing and cooling, may be obtained.
