To provide a gas cooling type waste melting furnace capable of substantially improving the life of a refractory of a furnace wall in a melting processing for incinerated ash and fly ash and other wastes.
An operation surface cooling fluid is blown from a furnace side wall section toward a furnace center section in the vicinity of a slag melt surface, particularly in a region where a molten salt layer is existent as a result, a layer for solidifying slag is formed, and viscosity of molten slag is decreased in by temperature lowering, further, the molten salt is separated away from the operation surface, whereby the lives of a molten slag melt surface neighbourhood portion and a molten salt existence region located just above are substantially improved.
